Application

We will accept applications submitted via online application form until March 20th, 2024. Acceptance will be sent by email in April at the latest. Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to respond to every application directly. We thank you for your understanding. Participation is limited to about 15 groups, which is why we unfortunately cannot consider all artists.

Venues

  • The venues are located in the historic old town of Lenzburg.
  • The venues of different sizes are on streets, squares, and in a small park. Depending on the venue, the surface is pavement, cobblestone, or grass.
  • The organizer provides electricity (230V) at each venue.
  • All venues are equipped with simple lighting
  • All electronic equipment such as amplifiers, loudspeakers, headsets, hand microphones, etc. must be brought by the artists themselves.
  • Maximum volume 90 dB(A)
  • Groups with special technical requirements only by arrangement

Travel costs

Each artist group will receive a flat-rate payment for travel expenses from the organizer. This amounts to CHF 350 for one person, CHF 400 for two people and
CHF 450 for three or more people. The amount will be reimbursed in cash at the festival office.

Meals

Each artist will receive food vouchers in the total amount of CHF 70 per person, which can be redeemed on the festival grounds. Co-travelers are not entitled to food vouchers or other catering offers.

Accommodation

The organizer will cover the artists’ costs for two overnight stays at the Hotel Krone in Lenzburg, from Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday, including breakfast. Depending on availability, these may be single or double rooms. The organizer does not cover hotel costs for managers, friends, family, etc.

Payment

The artists will not receive any payment from the organizer. Instead, the performers earn money from hat money. Because of our long-standing tradition, visitors are well aware of this. The income from the performances belongs entirely to the artists.

Other forms of compensation

No other forms of compensation or payment will be accepted by the organizer apart from the forms of compensation mentioned above.

  • Extensive PR/advertising for the festival by the organizer
  • Hat money is particularly emphasized in the communication
  • The artist groups are to provide the organizer with high-resolution photos and info texts

Weather

The Lenzburger Gauklerfestival is a street festival that takes place in the open air. In the event of bad weather, no compensation can be claimed from the organizer. Due to the circumstances and the lack of premises, only a scaled-down version of the program can be made possible in the event of bad weather. We will provide information about any program changes due to bad weather on short notice at the venue. The public will be informed via information boards about possible postponements in time and place.

Insurance

  • The artists are liable for themselves and are to be personally sufficiently insured
  • The organizer assumes no liability for accidents of the participants during the festival.
  • The organizer assumes no liability for third-party equipment, theft, or damage to property.
  • The organizer is not liable for any costs or damages caused by the artists.

 Image rights
  • The artists transfer to the organizer all rights for all recordings (image and sound) made during the festival, including those of their own picture.
  • The artists agree that pictures and recordings may be used by the organizer or by their authorized third parties. This also includes the distribution and publication on social media.
  • The recording of entire performances is not required.
  • The artists agree to the mention of their name in connection with the recordings concerned.

By submitting the application and signing the contract, the artists confirm that they have read, understood, and accepted the conditions of participation!
